Day 1: We left CBC around 3:30 a.m on Tuesday. We flew to El Salvador and then borded a plane that resembled a lawnmower with wings and made our way to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. We drove for three hours and arrived at the mountainous area of Yoro. We were spent. We had a quick shower, a great dinner and immediately passed out.
Day 2: The work begins!
When we arrived at the work site, our Honduran brothers had already dug the trenches where the walls of the new church would stand. We spent the day doing everything from cutting rebar, to passing bricks to one another, to mixing cement, making Tortillas and drinking lots of water. At lunch, Tommy created a bench out of lumber for the workers to sit upon. Within minutes, his new bench was filled with smiling Hondruan children! Just talking to the children made us excited for VBS this Saturday!
God has blessed with a wonderful first two days here! Please continue to keep us in your prayers as a few of our team members have had headaches and we are adjusting to the humidity and physical labor. We are envious of the Honduras who work with such ease.
Please bear with us (your blog editors) as we are having some difficulty using computers in Spanish. More pictures to come!
Bendiciones a todos!
